The braces used for this treatment are composed of clear brackets and white wires that match the teeth – which means they are much more subtle and harder to detect.

The amount of time that is needed for this treatment varies according to the individual requirements of the patient. It could take as little as four months, or up to nine months – with a six month period being the average. The Six Month Smiles braces are specifically designed to treat misalignment of the front, most visible teeth. One of the big advantages of the shorter treatment period is that it can be less expensive than other options, as well as being a much less invasive process.

Invisalign

Invisalign doesn’t involve braces. Instead, the teeth are improved by using sets of clear plastic aligners that are created to fit the patient perfectly. Each fortnight, you’ll get a new set of aligners, and these work to slowly move your teeth into a desirable position over time. For this reason, the treatment is considered to be much more comfortable than metal braces.

The duration of your Invisalign treatment depends on what your teeth are like at the start, but it is typically around a year. In addition, you can remove your aligners, making them a more attractive option. It is important that they are worn for as much as possible each day, but you can take them out for meals and cleaning the teeth.
