Facial aesthetics treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers are excellent complementary treatments to cosmetic dentistry. Many patients at Luton’s Vogue Dental Care find that by combining cosmetic dental treatments with facial aesthetics they enjoy an excellent boost to their confidence, and are left both looking and feeling several years younger.
What is Botox for?
Botox is perhaps the best-known facial aesthetics treatment on the market. It involves using a purified version of the botulinum type A toxin to reduce unwanted lines and wrinkles on the face, restoring a more youthful appearance.
At Luton’s Vogue Dental Care, our skilled cosmetic dental team have undertaken additional training to be fully qualified in both Botox and dermal fillers.
How treatment works
Treatment with Botox works by blocking nerve impulses to the tiny facial muscles, forcing them to relax and smoothing out the skin to lessen the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is commonly used to treat lines and wrinkles on the forehead, to lift the jowls, and to combat pockets under the eyes. Botulinum toxin can also be used to treat excessive sweating.
The treatment is delivered in a series of tiny, pain-free injections, which are precisely targeted to produce natural-looking results. Although a dentist may not be the first person you would think of contacting for facial aesthetics treatments, their excellent knowledge of facial anatomy and structure means that they are in an excellent position to deliver exactly the right amount of treatment to create results that look beautiful and natural, without looking over-done.
You will only require a short appointment at our Luton clinic for treatment with botulinum toxin or dermal fillers. While results from dermal filler treatment are visible straight away, with Botox the full results take a few days to fully develop. Although not a permanent treatment, you can expect results to last at least three months.
